Term 2: Colour Palettes - love/hate relationship

For a lot of our projects we have to make colour palettes. These ones are for the massive and time consuming Index project.

They can be made using yarn, thread, paint or using collage. Personally I like using yarn/thread more than the other techniques because its easier to get a colour match. We usually make our palettes based on a photo. Sometimes you're lucky and find the exact colour, sometimes its a 80-90% match and sometimes its almost hopeless to find the colour. Also... when you're taking a photo of something the colours in the photo and the real life colour is not the same thing :( Another reason I like using thread more is becasue well I'm doing textile design. So it makes sense to use that material as it's the material I'm working with or a least close to it.

Here a few I've done. Not complete yet and the match isn't perfect - but hard to get it correct.

I enjoy making colour wraps (thats the love part) however its hard to match colour sometimes which can be frustrating (thats the hate part).
